Hunting Together RPG Leveling Guide: Party EXP Sharing and Level-Appropriate Routes
Set party EXP sharing, use the +2% per-member bonus within a 10-level window, and follow the level-tiered hunting zones from the starting forest onward.
If you want to level faster in Hunting Together RPG, do two things: set the party's EXP distribution to share, and hunt in the level tier your character is actually in. The EXP setting takes a few clicks inside the party menu; after that, the kills the group makes together count toward shared leveling EXP.
Set up party EXP sharing
You have to be in a party before the option means anything — the control lives in the party panel, so form or join a group first. With a party active:
Checklist
- Open the party panel
The panel shows each teammate's class and health bar.
- Select Manage
This opens the party settings, which include the item and EXP distribution settings.
- Find the EXP distribution setting at the bottom left
- Change the mode to share
This is the step that turns on shared leveling EXP.
- Hunt together
Shared leveling EXP applies to the group's kills from then on.
Manage is also where the party leader can transfer leadership or remove members. Keep the two distribution settings apart while you are in there: the EXP distribution setting decides whether leveling experience is shared, while the item distribution setting decides how drops are handed out. The panel stays useful after setup, too, so you can keep track of the group mid-hunt.
What the party bonus is worth
The party menu lists an EXP and drop-chance bonus of +2% per person, and a full 6/6 party displays EXP +12%. That lines up with the underlying rule: each member in the party adds a 2% bonus to experience gains and item drop rates, reaching a maximum bonus of 12% in a full six-player group. Parties hold up to six players, who share combat gains when they fight together.
So the number shown in the menu tracks headcount. When you are deciding whether a group is worth joining for leveling, checking that displayed bonus is the quickest read on what the current roster is giving you — a partial party shows a smaller figure than a full one, and the ceiling is the 12% at six players.
The level gap that cuts into the bonus
The bonus is not unconditional across any mix of levels. If the level gap between party members exceeds 10 levels, the party experience bonus drops by 1.5% to 5% per level, up to a maximum 30% reduction.
In practice, a group whose members are spread far apart in level is not pooling the full listed bonus even if the roster is full — the gap starts eating into it past the 10-level mark. A hunting party kept inside that window is what the bonus is written for. If you are invited to a group with a wide spread, expect the effective EXP bonus to be affected accordingly.
Pick the zone for your level range
Progression runs through level-tiered zones separated by gatekeeper bosses, so the level-appropriate hunting ground is usually the tier your character is currently standing in. The route looks like this:
Hunting route by level tier
- Level range
- 1–8
- Zone
- Starting forest
- What to expect
- Rabbits and low-level beasts.
- Level range
- 9–16
- Zone
- Second wilderness zone
- What to expect
- Boars and lizards.
- Level range
- 17–24
- Zone
- Transition zone
- What to expect
- Leads toward the first major town.
- Level range
- 25
- Zone
- Boss Gate
- What to expect
- A Gorilla King boss blocks progress to the next territory. Defeating it clears the gate so you can enter the town and its surrounding fields.
- Level range
- 34, 42, 50+
- Zone
- Intermediate elemental maps
- What to expect
- Lead into the desert city, where monster affinities change.
The first two tiers are plain hunting ground, while levels 17–24 are a stretch about getting to the first major town rather than settling into a new camp. The Level 25 Boss Gate is the first hard stop: if your leveling stalls around that band, the Gorilla King gate is what stands between you and the next set of fields, and defeating it clears the way into the town and its surrounding fields. Past it, the level 34, 42 and 50+ elemental maps shift monster affinities on the way into the desert city, which is worth keeping in mind for what you will be fighting as you push through those maps. See the bosses guide for the gate fights and the locations guide for the areas themselves.
Keep the zone's quests running
Leveling speed depends heavily on grouping with other players and keeping active zone quests running. Those two levers work together with the route above: the zone you are hunting in supplies the quests, and the party supplies both the per-member EXP bonus and more bodies on the same targets.
Party play helps the quest side directly. With the relevant hunting quest accepted and its level requirement met, party members attacking the matching target can also advance the same quest's kill count. That means the group can stand in one tier, all take the matching quest, and make progress on the same objective together instead of splitting up per player. If your kills feel like they are not moving a quest along, check first that the quest is accepted and that its level requirement is met before assuming something is broken. The quests guide covers the wider quest structure.
Loot distribution is a separate switch
The item distribution setting — the other one in the same Manage menu — toggles between Classic, which awards drops to the player dealing the highest damage, and Share, which rotates item drops sequentially among members. It does not change whether experience is shared; that is the EXP distribution setting you set to share earlier. It does change who collects the drops the party earns while leveling, so if the group is hunting together for a long stretch, it is worth deciding deliberately rather than leaving it at whatever it was set to.
A workable order to follow
Join or form a party, set the EXP distribution setting to share, keep the roster inside a 10-level window so the per-member bonus is not trimmed, then hunt the zone tier that matches your level with the zone's hunting quests accepted. Confirm the party menu's displayed bonus for the roster you actually have, and treat the Level 25 Boss Gate as a checkpoint rather than a hunting spot — beating the Gorilla King is what opens the next territory.
If you are still early and this is your first party, the beginner guide and the progression guide put the zones and unlocks in a wider order, while the party guide covers the rest of the party systems. Once you are comfortable with the route, the monsters guide and unlock areas help you plan the next stretch of hunting.
